About the position

The Lot Operations Specialist I at Cox Automotive is responsible for organizing and managing the distribution of vehicles within a designated zone at the auction property. This role ensures that the area is maintained efficiently to facilitate quick drop-offs and optimize the workflow for technicians. The specialist will make decisions regarding vehicle staging, manage the movement of vehicles, and ensure compliance with safety protocols while representing the company's values.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain the placement of vehicles within the designated zone to defined standards.
• Utilize information from supervisors and dashboards to make informed move decisions.
• Ensure safe management of move areas and coordinate crews in compliance with safety rules.
• Label vehicles accurately for movement and sale preparation.
• Communicate with crew leaders and managers about inventory status and priorities.
• Champion company values and ensure respectful treatment of all employees.
• Follow all safety and health procedures and model appropriate behaviors.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with 3 years of experience in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive both standard and automatic vehicles.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for identifying vehicle issues such as flat tires or low gas.

Nice-to-haves

• 6 months of auction or driving experience preferred.
• Knowledge of lot operations and layout preferred.
• Familiarity with LDM (Lot Data Management) preferred.
