About the position

The Lot Operations Specialist II at Cox Automotive plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of vehicle movements during the auction process. This position is responsible for coordinating the physical movement of vehicles through the sales lane to the block and parking areas following the auction. The specialist will oversee the assignments of drivers, jump start/battery operators, and push truck operators to promote an efficient flow of traffic throughout the auctioning process. In addition to managing vehicle movements, the specialist will conduct inspections of support equipment to ensure they are in proper working order. They will also lead pre-sale meetings with drivers to identify return routes, overflow areas, and any necessary plan changes. A critical part of the role involves conducting a presale walk to ensure that vehicles are in their assigned lanes as scheduled, identifying and addressing any issues such as missing vehicles, overflow areas, or inoperable vehicles. The Lot Operations Specialist II will maintain a run list that indicates vehicles with no keys, late entries, and any number changes. They will also be responsible for responding to customer and dealer inquiries and concerns, coordinating vehicle movement to maintain a continuous flow of traffic to the block, overseeing the parking of sold vehicles, and re-parking non-sold vehicles. Any incidents of theft, lot damage, or safety concerns must be reported to management promptly.
