About the position

The Lot Operations Specialist II at Cox Automotive is responsible for organizing and maintaining the placement of vehicles within designated zones, ensuring efficient movement and safety of vehicles. This role involves utilizing dashboards for decision-making, improving operational processes, and communicating effectively with team leaders and management. The position emphasizes adherence to safety protocols and company policies while representing the values of Cox/Manheim.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain the placement of vehicles within the designated zone.
  • Utilize information from the Supervisor and Lot Ops dashboards to make move decisions.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement efforts relating to safety and efficient movement of vehicles.
  • Move and stage vehicles safely and segment them into proper work destinations.
  • Confirm that all vehicles can operate safely and engage service and towing teams when necessary.
  • Label vehicles with sale and routing labels for accurate movements.
  • Communicate with crew leaders and managers regarding inventory levels and prioritize as necessary.
  • Champion Cox/Manheim values and ensure respectful treatment of all employees.
  • Implement company policies and procedures related to employee and customer conduct.
  • Follow all safety and health procedures and model related behaviors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, including potential overtime.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge for identifying vehicle issues.
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear; vision abilities required include close, distance, and color vision.
  • Ability to lift 1-15 pounds and walk long distances.

Nice-to-haves

  • 6 months auction or driving experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of lot operations/lot layout preferred.
  • Knowledge of LDM preferred.
