About the position

The Barkmont is a Full-Service Pet Care company located in West Berkeley, seeking passionate pet care professionals to join their team. The role involves providing exceptional care to dogs while ensuring a positive customer experience. Candidates should be dedicated to the health and well-being of the animals and be comfortable engaging with clients.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect play spaces, boarding crates, & grooming areas, keeping them free of waste, fur/hair, and other unsanitary or hazardous materials
• Accurately and independently track all shift duties using virtual real-time list
• Give dogs proper food and water throughout your shift
• Take dogs for potty breaks outside the facility
• Perform snout to tail checks and give medications
• Independently supervise guests in play group
• Keep records of feeding, behavior and play schedules for each dog
• Responsible for answering phone calls 100% of the time in a friendly manner
• Conduct guest hand-backs/pick-ups
• Accurately check-in/check-out guests from POS system
• Clean and move structures and equipment
• Before departing, review any behavioral or health concerns with evening crew
• Be available to work weekends and all major holidays

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma or GED certificate
• At least 18 years old
• Prior experience at a dog daycare facility, shelter, or personal animal care is desired
• Familiarity with identifying various dog breeds and behaviors
• Passion for taking care of animals
• Teamwork and strong communication skills
• Physical stamina for cleaning and maintaining all areas of the center
• Familiarity with various dog harnesses/leashes/collars
