About the position

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Low Code Application Engineer to join their team, primarily located in Raritan, NJ, with potential remote work options available on a case-by-case basis. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and deploying robust applications using low-code platforms, specifically focusing on Mendix and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). As a Low Code Application Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in low-code application development and containerization to contribute to a world-class engineering team dedicated to healthcare innovation. In this position, you will collaborate closely with key business partners to understand their needs and translate them into practical applications. Your responsibilities will include creating and managing data models, microflows, and user interfaces in Mendix, as well as deploying and managing applications on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). You will ensure that applications are scalable, reliable, and perform optimally in a containerized environment. Additionally, you will implement CI/CD pipelines to facilitate efficient application deployment and updates, integrate Mendix applications with other enterprise systems and APIs, and automate routine tasks to enhance efficiency. Quality assurance is a critical aspect of this role; you will conduct thorough testing of applications to meet quality and performance standards, collaborate with QA teams for comprehensive testing, and maintain detailed documentation for all applications. Furthermore, you will provide training and support to users of the applications and stay updated on industry trends and advancements in low-code development and AKS. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain low-code applications using Mendix.
  • Work closely with key business partners to gain insights into their needs and transform them into practical applications.
  • Create and manage data models, microflows, and user interfaces in Mendix.
  • Deploy and manage applications on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of applications in a containerized environment.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for efficient application deployment and updates.
  • Integrate Mendix applications with other enterprise systems and APIs.
  • Automate routine tasks and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Resolve integration issues in a timely manner.
  • Conduct thorough testing of applications to ensure quality and performance standards are met.
  • Employ proven methods to achieve optimal code quality, security, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to facilitate comprehensive testing and validation.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for applications.
  • Offer training and support to individuals using our products/services and others involved in the process.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in low-code development and AKS.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of proven experience in low-code application development with Mendix.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and containerization.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Experience with Tulip.
  • Mendix Developer Certifications.
