About the position

GSW Telecom is seeking installation and service technicians for commercial low voltage cabling and security system installations in Tucson and surrounding areas. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, as technicians will assist on a 24/7 rotating coverage site. Candidates should have 2-5 years of experience in installing low voltage systems and must be able to read prints, understand the scope of work, and complete installations according to code and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Install and service Category 6 (CAT6), Category 5e (Cat5e), coaxial, and telephone line cabling, including rough-in, termination, testing, and certification.
• Assemble and secure pipes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications.
• Cut conduit to design specifications using tools such as saws and pipe cutters.
• Perform audio/visual installation.
• Install surveillance camera systems.
• Rack and stack and clean cabling.
• Terminate/splice fiber optics, with training provided.
• Design, install, and maintain wireless point-to-point and multi-point systems.
• Design and build out Main Distribution Frame (MDF) and Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) per engineering blueprints.
• Demonstrate knowledge of new construction and retrofitting for networking.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-5 years of experience installing low voltage systems.
• Ability to read prints and understand scope of work.
• Proficiency in EMT installation and bending small EMT and rigid conduits.
• Valid Secret Clearance license preferred.
• Valid OSHA 10 certification preferred.

• Technical knowledge of fiber optic and network cabling installation and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing schedules.
• Proven field service experience in customer support during field visits.
