About the position

The Low Voltage Lead Technician at T.E.S.T., Inc. is responsible for overseeing the installation, configuration, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various low voltage systems. This role requires strong project management skills and the ability to lead a team effectively. The technician will work closely with project managers and clients to ensure timely project completion and maintain high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair low voltage systems.
  • Directly support the Lead Technician and Project Manager to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Communicate daily with the Project Manager regarding project status and updates.
  • Act as the primary contact with clients at job sites.
  • Update project tracker and maintain detailed daily notes.
  • Complete administrative tasks as assigned, including paperwork and plan updates.
  • Manage inventory and ensure sufficient supplies for projects.
  • Coordinate with Apprentice Technicians and other Lead Technicians to complete projects efficiently.
  • Ensure company vehicles are maintained and driven by preapproved employees.
  • Document project installations with photos and ensure customer satisfaction with signed scope of work forms.
  • Troubleshoot low voltage systems using wiring schematics and diagnostic equipment.
  • Follow safety regulations and maintain a clean work site.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license and liability insurance.
  • At least 2 years of low voltage experience preferred.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Project management skills and ability to lead a crew.
  • Ability to read prints and perform installation duties.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's degree in a related field.
  • National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies certification.
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers.
