About the position

The Low Voltage Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing multiple IT projects, ensuring timely completion within scope and aligned with customer expectations. This role involves collaboration with internal teams, field technicians, and external vendors to facilitate the execution of IT service delivery, infrastructure installations, and cabling projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in scoping, planning, scheduling, and coordinating IT projects including hardware installations, network upgrades, and low voltage cabling.
  • Research and select new low-voltage, AV, security camera, and access control vendors, vetting their experience and holding them accountable to performance deliverables.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between clients, vendors, and the internal team to ensure clear communication and smooth project execution.
  • Conduct site surveys and summarize information to accurately estimate tasks, labor hours, and materials for projects.
  • Maintain and update vendor records, including non-compete agreements and internal vendor ratings.
  • Oversee and coordinate projects involving the installation and maintenance of structured cabling systems and low voltage systems.
  • Assign and track resources required for each project, including technicians, materials, and equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines, monitoring progress and making adjustments as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining project budgets and flagging any cost-related issues.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including work orders, timelines, and client communications.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project status and milestones.
  • Ensure all installations and services meet industry standards and client expectations, emphasizing quality service.
  • Identify and manage potential project risks, developing mitigation strategies and proactively addressing issues.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in low voltage systems, including cabling, AV, security, access control systems, and telephony.
  • Experience working with teams of low voltage technicians.
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, including on-call rotations and overnight travel.
  • Completion of site visits for presales discovery of potential new clients.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Project Management, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of project coordination or management experience in an MSP or IT service environment.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure, network components, and low voltage systems.
  • Basic understanding of cabling standards and best practices for structured cabling installations.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
