About the position

The Low Voltage Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the execution of low voltage system projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, leading project teams, managing client relationships, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, initiate, and oversee projects from start to finish, ensuring alignment with client requirements, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring resource availability and allocation.
  • Track project progress and ensure deliverables are met, including managing risks and issues as they arise.
  • Conduct regular project status meetings with clients and internal teams to communicate progress, address concerns, and ensure that all stakeholders are informed.
  • Lead and supervise project teams, including technicians, subcontractors, and other personnel involved in the installation and implementation of low voltage systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to team members.
  • Ensure that team members follow safety protocols and quality control standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the duration of the project.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing clear communication on project progress, timelines, and expectations.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are completed within financial constraints.
  • Monitor project costs and approve invoices and change orders as necessary.
  • Procure materials, equipment, and resources required for project execution.
  • Ensure that all installations comply with local codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of work are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, drawings, change orders, progress reports, and schedules.
  • Provide regular progress reports to senior management and clients, outlining achievements, challenges, and key milestones.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in low voltage systems project management, including security, audio/visual, networking, or telecommunications systems.
  • Experience managing teams, budgets, and client relationships.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects from concept to completion.
  • Strong understanding of low voltage systems, including CCTV, access control, structured cabling, fire alarms, and AV systems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and local codes for low voltage installations.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project, Buildertrend, etc.) and basic office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent.
  • Low Voltage Installer, BICSI RCDD, or related certifications.
  • NICET certification (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies) or similar.
