About the position

The Operations Trainer at IES Communications is responsible for training employees on various software systems and processes related to project management and estimating. This role requires a strong background in either estimating or project management, with the ability to develop and deliver training content effectively. The trainer will conduct needs assessments, evaluate training effectiveness, and ensure that all personnel understand their roles within the systems used by IES. The position involves significant travel and the development of comprehensive training materials for both classroom and eLearning formats.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct training needs assessments by collecting information on work procedures and workflows.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness in relation to specific job applications.
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing program-specific standards.
  • Implement training processes and best practices to improve business performance.
  • Ensure all personnel have required access and understand their roles within the systems.
  • Provide instruction and eLearning guides for new features as they are launched.
  • Develop comprehensive training materials for classroom and eLearning experiences.
  • Confirm staff understands how to use systems correctly and provide precise reporting to management.
  • Provide one-on-one training sessions as needed for employees with questions or issues.
  • Gather feedback from teams to improve trainings and processes.

Requirements

  • Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a PMA or higher-level role at IES.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of job costing, job planning, quality management, safety training, and contract administration.
  • Proficient with IESOS, Spectrum, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).
  • Working knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theory preferred.
  • Previous professional training experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • BISCI Trainer or RCDD certification.
