About the position

The Low Voltage Technician position at TEKsystems involves supporting data center operations by installing and maintaining cabling and network infrastructure. The role requires a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn, with opportunities for training provided for those without prior cabling experience. Technicians will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Install cabinets, cable trays, ladder racks, fiber runners, containment, and trunks in a data center.
• Install and decommission network and cabling infrastructure in a Data Center environment.
• Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes with a focus on improvement.
• Provide structured feedback on project progress to stakeholders.
• Exhibit quality workmanship and maintain cleanliness in the Data Center.
• Follow all production, safety, and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
• Read and comprehend blueprints and building documentation/redline work.
• Maintain a broad understanding of Data Center infrastructure technologies.

Requirements

• Experience in cable installation and data center operations.
• Familiarity with CATV, Access, Telecommunication, and cabling technologies (Cat5, Cat6).
• Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn the trade.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with data center procedures such as physical security, decommissioning, and logistics.
