About the position

CWR Contracting, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and skilled Lowboy Truck Driver for our Pensacola Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a dump truck to transport materials to various job sites, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. This position requires a commitment to safety and efficiency, as well as the ability to perform minor maintenance and repairs on the vehicle as needed. The driver will be expected to conduct pre-trip inspections, report any issues, and maintain accurate logs and paperwork related to each trip. The role may also involve assisting crew members on-site as required, making it essential for the driver to be a team player and adaptable to changing job demands. In this position, the driver will be tasked with picking up materials from the asphalt plant and delivering them to designated locations. It is crucial that the driver adheres to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and maintains a clean driving record. The ability to work flexible hours, including days, nights, and weekends, is necessary to meet the demands of the job. Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-trip inspections of the vehicle.
  • Report any problems or malfunctions encountered during operation.
  • Drive to the asphalt plant to pick up materials for delivery.
  • Load and transport materials to the assigned destination safely and efficiently.
  • Comply with all company, DOT, Federal, State, and local safety regulations.
  • Complete a trip ticket for each move and keep receipts of materials hauled.
  • Turn in trip tickets and required paperwork promptly.
  • Maintain a DOT log book and complete all necessary documentation.
  • Perform minor maintenance and repairs on the vehicle as needed.
  • Assist crew members as required and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' verifiable work experience as a truck driver.
  • Valid Florida CDL Driver's license - Class A or B (tanker endorsement preferred).
  • Familiarity with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR).
  • Current medical card required for driving.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including days, nights, and weekends.
