About the position
The Substitute Teacher at Gilmour Academy is responsible for maintaining instructional continuity in the absence of regular teachers. This role involves executing lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and ensuring a positive learning environment. The position requires a valid substitute license and a commitment to fostering an engaging educational experience for students.
Responsibilities
- Following the teacher's written lesson plans.
- Consulting with the principal and/or staff to resolve questions and/or concerns.
- Assuming all duties and responsibilities of the absent teacher.
- Complying with all building safety procedures and schedules.
- Promoting the proper use and care of school property.
- Developing and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Working cooperatively with faculty, staff, and parents.
- Upholding computer technology acceptable use policies.
- Respecting personal privacy.
- Maintaining the confidentiality of privileged information.
- Performing other specific job-related duties as directed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
- Current Ohio Teaching License or Substitute License.
- Ability to follow both oral and written directions and instructions.
- Ability to communicate in both oral and written means.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to students, parents, and faculty/staff.
- Ability to effectively manage time and responsibilities.
- Ability to be professional in appearance, attitude, and demeanor.
