About the position

Loyola Medicine, a member of Trinity Health, is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the Loyola University Medical Center. This part-time position operates on a registry basis with rotating AM/PM shifts, providing an opportunity to work in a nationally ranked academic, quaternary care system located in Chicago's western suburbs. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in delivering compassionate care and improving the lives of our community members. Under the supervision of a Pharmacy Technician Manager and a registered pharmacist, you will be responsible for performing all technician duties associated with the preparation and distribution of medications, managing drug inventory, and interacting with patient records. Your role will also involve providing courteous and timely service to patients, visitors, and staff, ensuring that all interactions reflect the mission and values of Trinity Health. In this position, you will be expected to complete and maintain required annual technician competencies in a timely manner. The duties may vary depending on the assigned area or shift, and you will be expected to exemplify the Trinity mission, vision, and values while adhering to the policies and procedures of the Pharmacy Department. Responsibilities

  • Perform all technician duties associated with the preparation and distribution of medications.
  • Manage drug inventory and appropriate patient record interaction.
  • Provide courteous, cooperative, and timely service to patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Complete and maintain required annual technician competencies in a timely manner.
  • Exemplify the Trinity mission, vision, and values in all interactions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, which may vary by assigned area or shift.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Current IL licensure as a Pharmacy Technician required.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification validated by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or ExCPT validated by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) required for all technicians licensed after December 31st, 2007.
  • 1-2 years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program preferred.
  • Experience in a customer service pharmacy environment or related field preferred.

Nice-to-haves
