About the position
The LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) position is responsible for providing care, comfort, safety, and general supervision to residents in a healthcare setting during the 3rd shift. The role involves assisting residents with daily living activities, administering medications, and ensuring a safe and clean environment while adhering to healthcare regulations and protocols.
Responsibilities
- Provide care and comfort to residents by assisting with activities of daily living.
- Administer medications according to care plans and maintain accurate records in the Medication Administration Record (MAR).
- Review and update medication orders and ensure compliance with physician instructions.
- Observe and report changes in resident behavior and conditions to the Health and Wellness Director.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident health information as required by HIPAA.
- Ensure a safe environment for residents, visitors, and co-workers.
- Assist residents with personal hygiene, mobility, and toileting needs.
- Complete daily charting and documentation as required.
- Participate in mandatory in-service meetings and continuing education opportunities.
- Assist with kitchen and dining room tasks associated with resident meals.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Licensed Practical Nurse program with medication certification.
- Basic knowledge of operating a computer and familiarity with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- First aid and CPR training certification.
- Ability to use medical equipment such as blood pressure cuffs and stethoscopes.
