About the position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) involves providing individualized, goal-directed, and family-centered patient care in a 16-bed acute care unit specializing in medical surgical patients, including transplant recipients. The LPN will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse, demonstrating proficiency in nursing practices and collaborating with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality care. This part-time role requires a commitment to patient-centered care and offers opportunities for ongoing education and specialty certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, goal-directed, and family-centered patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrate proficiency in nursing according to South Carolina laws governing nursing.
• Deliver safe and effective care while interacting with other healthcare team members to achieve desired outcomes.
• Utilize LPN skills in multiple physical locations under MUSC Health.

Requirements

• Completion of a recognized Licensed Practical Nursing program.
• Minimum of six months experience as an LPN required.
• Licensed as an LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state.
• Current CPR certification (American Heart Association BLS or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer).
• Ability to demonstrate commitment to patient-centered care with effective communication skills.
