About the position
The LPN position in the Department of Specialty Care, Orthopedics at Knox Community Hospital involves assisting in the delivery of direct and indirect patient care. The role requires applying critical thinking skills to ensure safe, quality, and age-specific care while collaborating with healthcare team members. The LPN will document patient care accurately and adhere to organizational policies and professional standards.
Responsibilities
- Collect data on patient's condition based on interviews, physician's diagnosis, and diagnostic results.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and other healthcare providers to coordinate care.
- Deliver safe nursing interventions in an organized and prioritized manner.
- Contribute to the evaluation of the patient's response to nursing interventions and progress to expected outcomes.
- Document all aspects of patient care and maintain patient records in a timely manner.
- Provide patients and family members with relevant healthcare education and instructions regarding treatments and procedures.
- Assist in the orientation and training of new personnel and serve as a preceptor when requested.
- Demonstrate knowledge of disaster/emergency procedures and respond appropriately.
- Utilize measures to promote and maintain patient, visitor, and personnel safety.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect the rights, privacy, and property of others.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited program for nursing education with current licensure to practice professional nursing in Ohio.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience required.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous physician office practice experience preferred.
- Previous experience with all payors preferred.
