About the position

The LPN/LVN Dispensing Nurse at Volusia County Comprehensive Treatment Center plays a crucial role in the outpatient medication-assisted treatment (MAT) program for patients recovering from opioid use disorder. This full-time position involves providing safe and efficient medication dispensing under the supervision of medical professionals, ensuring accurate documentation and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer medication as ordered by the Medical Director or Program Physician accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate accounting of all medication received and dispensed to patients.
• Chart medication administration in nurse's notes accurately and in a timely manner.
• Document nursing care provided and maintain appropriate records related to patient's progress and activities accurately and in a timely manner.
• Safeguard all medication stock and maintain records required by the DEA, FDA, and ADP.
• Dedicate a minimum of 90% of work hours to medication administration activities.
• Responsible for urine collection and processing, reading test results as ordered by Program Physicians.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current LPN/LVN license in the state of Florida.
• Prefer 1 year nursing experience in behavioral health, outpatient treatment program, or addiction recovery field.
• Training or experience treating patients with MAT (medication assisted treatment) highly preferred.
• No history of alcohol or other drug misuse for a period of three years before employment.
