About the position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a crucial role in the clinic setting, performing various clinical and administrative tasks to assist patients through their healthcare journey. This position focuses on planning and managing patient care according to individual needs while providing high-quality, respectful care. Alternatively, Medical Assistants (MAs) are also integral to the HSHS Physician Enterprise, working in various specialty departments and supporting patient-first initiatives. Both roles offer internal growth opportunities and require collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and managing patient care according to each patient's needs.
  • Perform clinical and administrative tasks in a clinic setting.
  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a physician or mid-level provider.
  • Engage in reception activities, greeting and assisting patients and visitors.
  • Complete the business side of a patient visit.

Requirements

  • Completion of state approved Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Training Program is required.
  • 1-2 years of LPN experience is preferred.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of practice is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Completion from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required for MA roles.
  • 1 or more years of Medical Assistant experience may be considered in lieu of completion of program.
  • Medical Assistant (MA) Certification/Registration required from recognized credentialing organizations.
  • One year of clinical experience is required for MA roles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
