About the position
The Charge Nurse position at The Avenue at Strongsville is focused on providing direct nursing care to residents in a post-hospital rehabilitation and skilled nursing care facility. The role involves supervising nursing assistants and ensuring that care is delivered in accordance with federal, state, and local standards. Responsibilities
- Monitor patient's condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice
- Observe and interpret patient's symptoms and communicate them to physicians
- Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections, etc.)
- Perform skilled charting via the point click care charting system
- Adjust and administer patient's medication and provide treatments according to physician's orders
- Maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds, etc.)
- Provide instant medical care in emergencies
- Supervise nursing assistants
- Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for residents and their families
- Expand knowledge and capabilities by attending monthly in-services
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Experience in a nursing role, preferably in a rehabilitation or skilled nursing facility
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to supervise and lead a team of nursing assistants
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local healthcare regulations
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with point click care charting system
- Certification in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS)
- Bilingual skills
