About the position

The LPN Float position within the Department of Primary & Specialty Care Clinics at Knox Community Hospital involves assisting in the delivery of direct and indirect patient care. The role requires applying critical thinking skills to ensure safe, quality, and age-specific care while collaborating with healthcare team members. The position is part-time, with variable hours from Monday to Friday, and no weekend or holiday shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the delivery of direct/indirect patient care utilizing the nursing process.
• Documents patient care accurately and in a timely manner.
• Communicates and collaborates with healthcare team members.
• Collects data on patient's condition based on interviews and diagnostic results.
• Delivers safe nursing interventions in an organized manner.
• Contributes to the evaluation of the patient's response to nursing interventions.
• Accepts delegated responsibilities within scope of practice.
• Documents all aspects of patient care and maintains patient records.
• Provides healthcare education and instructions to patients and families.
• Assists in the orientation and training of new personnel and students.
• Demonstrates knowledge of disaster/emergency procedures and responds appropriately.
• Maintains confidentiality and respects the rights of others.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited program for nursing education with current licensure to practice professional nursing in Ohio.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of two years clinical experience required.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous physician office practice experience preferred.
• Previous experience with all payors preferred.
