About the position
The Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position at River Place Behavioral Health involves providing nursing care and services to patients with mental health concerns. The role emphasizes patient safety, effective communication, and collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care. The LPN will work 12-hour day shifts, focusing on monitoring patient health, administering care, and maintaining professional nursing standards.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patient health and administer basic care utilizing the nursing process within the LPN/LVN scope of practice.
- Collaborate with others to ensure that patients' physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental, and cultural needs are met.
- Provide for the basic comfort of patients and implement nursing interventions identified in the plan of care.
- Discuss the care provided with patients and listen to their concerns.
- Report status changes and concerns to registered nurses and doctors.
- Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, coworkers, and others involved in the patient's treatment.
- Provide for the safe delivery of medication in accordance with policies and procedures, physicians orders, and current practice.
- Maintain standards of professional nursing practice in accordance with facility policy and procedures.
- Responsible for thorough, accurate reporting and documentation of patient symptoms, responses, and progress.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required.
- Current LPN/LVN license as required by state.
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
- One or more years' of nursing experience within the clinical area of service provided by the facility preferred.
