About the position

The LPN/LVN position at EnvisionAge Incorporated involves providing nursing care to diverse patient populations within a clinical setting. The role requires collaboration with healthcare professionals, effective documentation of care, and adherence to established standards and protocols. The position is contract-based and may require flexibility in scheduling to accommodate various shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, perform, and complete assigned duties in providing care to variable patient populations.
  • Navigate Electronic Medical Record software to order studies, medications, create lab labels and armbands, verifying for accuracy.
  • Effectively document nursing care delivered in the ambulatory care setting.
  • Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals.
  • Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality, and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the MTF.
  • Perform/assist with procedures such as administration of oxygen, visual acuity tests, EKGs, irrigation of eyes and ears, tympanograms, splinting, phlebotomy, and other clinic specific procedures.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned and stored at the end of each work shift.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance and routine cleaning are performed as directed.
  • Ensure medication/supplies are replenished.
  • Participate in the orientation and training of newly assigned personnel, as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or clinical nurse specialist in the health care/education of patients.
  • Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.
  • Complete assigned patient care based on the patients' conditions, using judgment in selecting the appropriate order and sequence of procedures and treatments.
  • Observe, identify, and respond to the patient's needs for care, including medication, equipment-assisted care, and patient/family education.
  • Prepare and administer prescribed medications and perform treatments according to established policies/procedures.
  • Recognize urgent or emergent patient care situations, seek assistance of the RN and/or MD/DO, and initiate appropriate emergency interventions as directed.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university, or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency.
  • Must have an unrestricted LVN/PN license.
  • One year of practical or vocational nurse experience in clinic, lab, or immunizations.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a practical or vocational nurse.
  • Must hold current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification.
