About the position

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) at Encompass Health, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting their recovery journey. This position offers flexible scheduling options, including full-time, part-time, and PRN shifts, allowing you to work days or nights. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team, working closely with patients who are recovering from various conditions, including strokes, spinal cord injuries, and cardiac issues. Your contributions will directly impact patients' lives, helping them regain independence and achieve their health goals.

Responsibilities

• Perform a broad array of nursing tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Provide direct care to patients and carry out their plans of care.
• Observe patients' behavior, vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatment.
• Work with patients recovering from stroke, spinal cord injury, neurological disorders, joint replacement, fractures, multiple trauma, and cardiac/pulmonary conditions.
• Help patients work toward goals of being discharged and returning to their lives, families, and communities.

Requirements

• Current LPN/LVN licensure appropriate to state regulations required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• One or more years of experience within an inpatient medical-surgical or general hospital setting preferred.
• Rehabilitation experience preferred.
