Responsibilities
- Provide medical assistance to the physician/nurse practitioner.
- Handle patient phone calls and care for patients in the office.
- Perform EKGs and CLIA waived tests as appropriate.
- Maintain confidentiality and work independently with little supervision.
- Display tact and diplomacy in interpersonal skills.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Current Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) license from an accredited school.
- Current BLS certification from an ILCOR approved course.
- Good working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
- Ability to maintain composure under stressful conditions.
- Experience in a physician office setting preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with EPIC (EMR) systems.
