About the position

Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking a Novice Nurse - Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse with less than 12 months of experience. This entry-level position is part of a unique training program designed for new graduate nurses looking to gain hands-on experience in the medical field. The program offers personalized assignments, mentorship from experienced nurses, and the opportunity to work directly with patients in a home setting, enhancing both clinical skills and critical thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient/client care and/or contracted services.
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed, monitors and documents effectiveness of intervention and progress toward established goals.
• Intervenes as applicable to changes in condition and reports such changes to appropriate supervisor and/or physician.
• Documents all physician collaboration/coordination of care in the medical record and communicates this information as needed.
• Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment including universal precautions.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Active LPN/LVN License
• Current CPR certification
• PPD or chest X-Ray if applicable
