About the position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at AdventHealth Medical Group plays a crucial role in providing nursing care to patients under the direction of the Practice Manager or Director. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about delivering whole-person care, which encompasses physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. The LPN will assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and treatments, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care. This role also involves patient education, where the LPN will guide patients through their treatment plans and answer any questions they may have regarding their health and wellness. In addition to direct patient care, the LPN will be responsible for managing patient calls, including handling prescription refills in accordance with established protocols. Proficiency in electronic health records (EMR) is essential, as the LPN will document patient vitals and other pertinent information accurately. Customer service skills are paramount, as the LPN will interact with patients and their families, ensuring a positive experience in the healthcare setting. The position is full-time, with a schedule of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for both in-office and remote work days. The LPN will be based at the Gateway Medical Office Building in Merriam, Kansas, where they will be part of a dedicated team committed to providing comprehensive medical services to the community.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients under the direction of the Practice Manager/Director.
  • Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and treatments.
  • Administer procedures and treatments as directed by the provider.
  • Handle the triage of patient calls, including prescription refills according to protocols.
  • Document patient vitals and other pertinent information in the electronic health record (EMR).
  • Provide patient education and support regarding treatment plans.
  • Order and maintain inventory of pertinent medical supplies, including pharmaceuticals.
  • Utilize computer software for patient documentation and provide necessary documentation to patients.

Requirements

  • Kansas LPN License
  • Associate's Degree or Graduate of a Technical School
  • BCLS obtained through the American Heart Association
  • No previous experience required.
