About the position
The LPN - Psychiatric Support position at Lakeview Center involves providing skilled nursing services to clients with mental health issues, substance abuse problems, or developmental disabilities. The role focuses on maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment while delivering individualized care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or medical doctor. Responsibilities include assessment, treatment planning, and direct service provision to meet the needs of clients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing services to mental health, substance abuse, or developmentally disabled clients.
- Assist in assessment and treatment planning for clients.
- Deliver direct service provision and person-centered services using specialized knowledge and skills.
- Manage client risk and safety effectively.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for clients.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- Valid license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Florida.
- Certification in CPR.
- Ability to perform client/patient behavior management techniques (CPI) with appropriate training.
- Capability to provide individualized, integrated mental health and substance abuse services.
- Proficient in using a computer.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in behavioral health care settings.
- Knowledge of state or federally funded programs such as Medicaid.
