About the position

The LPN Staff Nurse position at Plymouth Pediatric Associates involves providing high-quality patient care in a pediatric setting. The role requires the nurse to develop relationships with patients and their families, assist in medical procedures, and ensure a clean and safe environment for both patients and staff. The ideal candidate should be organized, motivated, and capable of working in a busy clinic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collect data on basic health status and related health data.
  • Perform and document assigned procedures, including vital signs, throat cultures, injections, dressing changes, urine dipstick, and vision/hearing screenings.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and providers.
  • Prepare patients for exams and treatments, assisting providers in medical procedures and treatments.
  • Provide patient instruction per physician or nurse practitioner.
  • Set up and restock exam rooms, maintaining order and cleanliness.
  • Communicate restocking needs to the front desk supervisor.
  • Maintain equipment in proper working order, including cleaning and sterilizing instruments.
  • Maintain competencies in conducting in-house labs, quality control, and vaccine management.
  • Monitor waiting room for cleanliness and patient needs.
  • Participate in staff meetings and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current Massachusetts LPN license or certified/registered graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • One year of experience in a pediatric practice setting is preferred.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
  • Experience with computers, web-based programs, and EMR.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Pediatrics is preferred.
