The LPN Team Lead is responsible for various clinical tasks, patient assessments, and maintaining a professional environment for both patients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Participates in Care team huddles and initiates pre-visit planning workflow.
- Exhibits excellent customer service and maintains a professional appearance.
- Monitors customer wait times and prioritizes walk-ins based on urgency.
- Performs patient assessments for non-appointment patients and phone calls.
- Assesses vital signs and prepares patients for examination procedures.
- Keeps exam rooms clean, organized, and stocked.
- Documents symptoms, chief complaints, medication reconciliation, and allergy history.
- Administers medications as authorized and prescribed by the physician.
- Assists physicians with treatments, examinations, injections, and other procedures.
- Monitors supply levels and reorders when necessary.
- Ensures coordination and tracking of labs, referrals, and diagnostic tests.
- Maintains medical supplies and equipment, including crash carts and medication closets.
- Engages patients in activities to improve their health and implements patient education.
- Participates in quality improvement activities related to care team performance.
- Performs venipuncture and basic lab work as needed.
Requirements
- Current Alabama Nursing License
- Certification in IV and/or experience in infusions
- Diploma in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing
- One year of clinical work experience preferred
