About the position

Brightstar Care of Overland Park is seeking a dedicated team of passionate nurses to join our pediatric nursing team. As a member of our nursing team, you will provide comprehensive care to a variety of pediatric patients, which includes hygiene care, tube feedings, medication administration, neurological assessments, vital signs monitoring, trach care/suctioning, ventilator care, and much more. You will work closely with our Nurse Supervisor, the patient, their family, and the physician to achieve successful patient outcomes. We pride ourselves on providing live help from a nurse available 24/7 for any clinical issues that may arise in the home. All shadowing and training will be hands-on and paid, ensuring that you are well-prepared for your role. We utilize a buddy system for training, which includes thorough competencies to ensure you feel confident in your abilities. Our pediatric patients are located in favorable home environments across Leawood, Kansas City, Olathe, Overland Park, Shawnee, and Leavenworth, offering flexible scheduling options including day shifts, overnights, evenings, and weekends. Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to pediatric patients including hygiene care, tube feedings, medication administration, neurological assessments, vital signs monitoring, trach care/suctioning, and ventilator care.
  • Collaborate with the Nurse Supervisor, patient, family, and physician to achieve successful patient outcomes.
  • Utilize live help from a nurse available 24/7 for any clinical issues that may arise in the home.
  • Participate in hands-on training and shadowing, ensuring thorough competencies are met.
  • Maintain adherence to HIPAA and client confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Current LPN license in good standing.
  • Current CPR Certification (BLS).
  • Negative TB skin test (within the last year).
  • Ability to complete charting on a laptop/tablet.
