About the position

The LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) position involves providing care and treatment to patients in a medical office setting under the direction of a physician. The role includes preparing patients for examinations, administering medications, and assisting with minor surgeries, among other clinical tasks. The LPN is also responsible for maintaining patient records and managing incoming calls that require nursing assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Cares for and treats patients as directed by the provider.
  • Prepares patients for examinations and assists with procedures.
  • Administers injections and medications.
  • Dresses wounds and incisions.
  • Interprets physician instructions to patients.
  • Assists with emergency and minor surgery.
  • Receives and triages incoming calls requiring nurse assessment.
  • Maintains records of vital statistics and other patient data.
  • Cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment.
  • Maintains stock of medical supplies.
  • Conducts specified laboratory tests and records electrocardiograms.
  • Performs secretarial duties and prepares monthly statements.

Requirements

  • Valid LPN license in the State of Indiana.
  • BLS/CPR certification required.
  • Physician Office experience preferred.
