About the position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Scioto Rehabilitation & Care Center is responsible for providing general nursing care to residents in a nursing facility. This role involves administering medications, explaining procedures to residents, and supervising nursing practices to ensure the comfort and safety of residents. The LPN will also document patient conditions and collaborate with physicians to maintain the highest level of care.

Responsibilities

• Provides general nursing care to residents in a nursing facility.
• Explains procedures and treatments to residents to gain cooperation and understanding.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
• Prepares equipment and aids Physician during treatment and examination of residents.
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of residents.
• Supervises nursing practices directed toward restoring and maintaining residents' capabilities.
• Observes residents, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies Physician or Supervisor of changes.
• Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned residents.
• Uses Point, Click, Care for electronic documentation.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies.

Requirements

• Licensed Practical Nurse in State of Ohio or Ohio Registered Nurse Licensure.
• Mid-level organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• High level of clinical skills.
