About the position

The Operations Manager at Atlantic Aviation is responsible for overseeing the safety, productivity, service levels, and overall operational efficiency of the FBO Line Department. This role involves managing various operational employees, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards, and fostering effective communication between departments. The position is ideal for self-motivated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, outdoor environment and are looking to grow their careers in the aviation industry.

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage all FBO Line Supervisors, CSR Supervisors, and indirectly other operational employees.
  • Develop and maintain site practices and procedures for a safe and enjoyable work environment.
  • Ensure departments have adequate resources and inventory for safe and efficient operations.
  • Train employees with appropriate documentation as per NATA's 'Safety First' procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with operational and safety requirements and company SOPs.
  • Manage service operations in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Oversee personnel, equipment, and resources for scheduling and cost control.
  • Maintain knowledge of aircraft refueling instructions and ground operations.
  • Manage ground service, fueling, and hangar equipment to ensure safety.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide counseling to direct reports.
  • Organize departmental meetings and facilitate communication between staff and management.
  • Coordinate facility maintenance and improvement initiatives.
  • Initiate emergency and incident response procedures as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent training and experience.
  • Valid state driver's license and at least 18 years of age.
  • NATA Certification.
  • At least ten years of progressive experience in FBO Management or the airline industry.
  • Demonstrated ramp operations and management capability.
  • Aptitude in supervising and developing staff.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills.
  • Participation in Atlantic Leadership Training.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Customer relations skills.
