About the position

Atlantic Aviation is seeking a self-motivated, safe, positive, enthusiastic, and goal-oriented individual for the position of Operations Manager. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety, productivity, service levels, and overall operational efficiency of the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) Line Department. The Operations Manager will also oversee the Customer Service Department, emphasizing effective communication and coordination between the two departments. The position is based in a fast-paced environment, often outdoors, and offers the opportunity to work alongside some of the most incredible professionals in the aviation industry. The Operations Manager will directly manage all FBO Line Supervisors and CSR Supervisors, while indirectly overseeing various operational employees. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining site practices and procedures that contribute to a safe, profitable, and enjoyable work environment. The Operations Manager will ensure that departments and personnel have adequate resources and inventory to maintain safe and efficient operations while facilitating a high level of customer service. Additionally, the role requires ensuring that all employees are properly trained, with appropriate documentation to evidence such training as recommended in NATA's "Safety First" procedures. As an expert in company policies and tools, the Operations Manager will ensure compliance with all operational and safety requirements and standard operating procedures (SOP). The position also involves managing personnel, equipment, and resources to ensure appropriate scheduling and cost control, maintaining a working knowledge of specific aircraft refueling instructions, and managing ground service, fueling, and hangar equipment/supplies to ensure safety. Regular performance reviews of direct reports, organizing departmental meetings, coordinating facility maintenance, and initiating emergency response procedures are also key responsibilities of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage all FBO Line Supervisors and CSR Supervisors, and indirectly manage other operational employees.
  • Develop and maintain site practices and procedures that contribute to a safe, profitable, positive, and enjoyable work environment.
  • Ensure departments and personnel have adequate resources and inventory for safe and efficient operations while facilitating high customer service levels.
  • Ensure all employees are properly trained with appropriate documentation as recommended in NATA's "Safety First" procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all operational and safety requirements and company standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Manage service operations to ensure they are conducted in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Manage personnel, equipment, and resources for appropriate scheduling and cost control.
  • Maintain knowledge of specific aircraft refueling instructions, ground marshalling, turning, loading, and unloading.
  • Manage ground service, fueling, and hangar equipment/supplies to ensure safety.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews of direct reports, counseling, motivating, and disciplining them as appropriate.
  • Organize periodic departmental meetings and design communication flows between staff and management.
  • Coordinate facility maintenance and improvement initiatives.
  • Initiate emergency and incident response procedures as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Valid state driver's license and at least 18 years of age.
  • NATA Certification.
  • At least ten (10) years of progressive experience in FBO Management, the airline industry, or equivalent in an aviation-related field.
  • Demonstrated ramp operations and management capability.
  • Aptitude in supervising and developing staff.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Consistently demonstrated good organizational and leadership skills.
  • Participation in Atlantic Leadership Training.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Customer relations skills.
