About the position

The LTE Remediation and Redevelopment Environmental Program Associate position at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in Green Bay is a part-time role focused on providing programmatic support within the Remediation and Redevelopment Program. The associate will be responsible for managing and digitizing site file records, assisting with public records requests, and providing technical assistance to the public and regulated community under the supervision of the Northeast Team Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, maintain, and coordinate regional case file records.
  • Lead and support the region's digitization effort, including scrubbing, performing optical character recognition (OCR), redacting, naming, and uploading records to the Bureau of Remediation and Redevelopment Tracking System (BRRTS).
  • Conduct quality assurance projects on uploaded documents and tracked data as assigned.
  • Assist the EPA/Waste Management Specialist with public records requests and coordinate in-person record review appointments.
  • Provide technical assistance to the public and regulated community regarding contaminated sites and programmatic policies.
  • Respond to inquiries from customers and colleagues, providing interpretation of programmatic policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and eligibility to drive a state vehicle.
  • Minimum of two years of licensed driving experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and the public.
  • Self-motivated, punctual, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to coordinate with technical staff and understand technical documents.
  • Willingness to learn the DNR BRRTS database system and Spills Electronic Reporting and Tracking System (SERTS).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in an environmental field.
  • Experience with state records management protocols.
  • Ability to lift record boxes of 10 lbs or more.
