About the position

As an LTL Account Executive at M2 Logistics, you will be responsible for managing customer shipments and ensuring timely delivery while fostering strong relationships with customers and carriers. This role involves planning, executing, and monitoring shipments, as well as identifying new business opportunities and maintaining account plans for growth.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee information for assigned accounts in the transportation management systems to ensure accurate data for planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with all influential levels of strategic customer organizations and appropriate contacts at M2.
  • Cultivate new business opportunities through prospecting and cold calling activities.
  • Track sales cycle progress and activity in CRM.
  • Establish and nurture strong professional relationships with potential clients using various prospecting techniques.
  • Identify, research, and provide creative problem resolution with customers, carriers, and vendors.
  • Seek new opportunities through existing customers to grow and develop partnerships.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the account plan and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Implement strategic account project plans to ensure growth within assigned accounts.
  • Conduct quarterly account reviews with the Sales Department to understand client needs and pain points.
  • Build situational awareness of current market trends and pricing.
  • Audit invoices and inform necessary parties on shipment changes.
  • Identify, analyze, recommend, and implement improvement initiatives for service improvements and cost savings.
  • Cross train on non-assigned accounts and fulfill responsibilities as a back-up to teammates.
  • Travel to current/prospective customer account locations as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • BA/BS degree in related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in transportation, shipping, supply chain or procurement is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Quick learner who is successful at multi-tasking.
  • Team player who can also produce independent results.
  • Proven success in managing time and accomplishing tasks.
