About the position

The Mindess School is looking for a Long Term Substitute Grade 4 Dual Educator who is certified in both general education for grades 1-6 and special education for PK-8 with a focus on moderate disabilities. This position is full-time and is expected to run from January 29, 2025, to April 16, 2025. The educator will be responsible for creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment while implementing lesson plans that align with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Fostering an inclusive and joyful learning environment
• Lesson planning and implementation in accordance with the MA Curriculum Frameworks
• Using innovative approaches and instructional strategies to increase student learning
• Providing research-based specialized instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives contained within each student's IEP
• Assessing student progress
• Conducting data collection and providing progress reports specific to individual student goals
• Developing and implementing Individualized Educational Program (IEP) plans for students
• Coordinating the delivery of special education services in each student's IEP
• Communicating responsibly with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership

Requirements

• Certification in general education grades 1-6
• Certification in special education PK-8, moderate disabilities
• Experience in lesson planning and implementation
• Ability to foster an inclusive learning environment
• Strong communication skills

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with data collection and progress reporting
• Familiarity with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks
• Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
