About the position

The Lube Technician position at Transdev involves performing routine and some non-routine maintenance work on vehicles, primarily Class 8 Trucks and Pickups. The role emphasizes safety and adherence to Transdev standards while ensuring vehicles are maintained and safe for customers. Technicians will work under minimal supervision and are responsible for various maintenance tasks, including inspections and minor repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance on vehicles, including tire maintenance and visual inspections.
  • Conduct limited repairs such as replacing light bulbs, fuses, lenses, wiper blades, belts, hoses, and batteries.
  • Check fluid levels, change fluids and filters, and lubricate components.
  • Maintain records of all maintenance work completed on vehicles, including parts and supplies used.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM's) and safety maintenance inspections at prescribed intervals.
  • Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective actions taken.
  • Evaluate completed work prior to release and seek approval where required.
  • Adhere to Transdev standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Move vehicles safely between job and work area.
  • Repair and maintain all shop equipment.
  • Clean vehicles as requested or required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
  • Class B CDL with air brake endorsement preferred.
  • Beginner mechanical aptitude and 1 year of automotive or diesel repair experience preferred or equivalent education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Problem-solving ability and computer skills.
  • Comfortable using hand tools.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Maintain an organized shop and clean work environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with automotive or diesel repair is preferred.
  • Possess adequate mechanic tool inventory to complete all assigned duties.
