Lucas County Farm Bureau Outreach Coordinator

About the position

The Outreach Coordinator for Lucas County Farm Bureau is responsible for promoting agriculture within the community, particularly among youth and schools. This part-time role involves coordinating events, managing communications, and engaging with members and volunteers to foster a deeper appreciation for agriculture in Lucas County.

Responsibilities

• Perform communications and outreach duties on behalf of the County Farm Bureau.
• Coordinate events such as Ag in the Classroom and public outreach activities.
• Manage social media accounts and maintain a social media presence on important platforms.
• Research, prepare, and submit articles for the Farm Bureau newsletter.
• Collect and enter member advertisements in the Spokesman.
• Update membership database and process membership information or payments from renewing clients.
• Coordinate activities and records for the county board of directors, including preparation of documents and materials for meetings.
• Maintain regular contact with the supervisor regarding Farm Bureau activities.
• Work and communicate with Committee Chairs, Executive Officers, and Board of Directors on projects or county business.
• Serve as a positive liaison between supervisor, staff, volunteers, and affiliated companies.

• Enthusiastic about engaging with school and youth to promote agriculture.
• Creative writing skills as an Editor of Lucas County Spokesman page.
• Comfortable operating within a Microsoft Environment.
• Proficient in navigating social media platforms.
• Willing to collaborate with both staff and volunteers across diverse activities.
• Confident speakers comfortable addressing groups of various ages.
• Well-versed and interested in the agricultural industry.
