This role is part of the Lunar Transportation business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin's vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth. We are looking for multiple fluids, propulsion, and mechanical design engineers with experience developing new components. You will design the propulsion and/or fluid systems for Lunar spacecraft with a particular focus on valves to transport and gasify liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen. Work will include the complete life cycle of the system from definition, interfaces, conceptual design, detailed design, component development, assembly, verification, and operation. You will own your components from initial design to analyzing data from their landing on the moon! You will define requirements, design, and perform 1st order analyses to verify your designs. You will work with suppliers or Blue Origin groups to identify and procure valves for the flight vehicle. You will size, select material, and analyze these components for structural integrity due to pressure, vibration, fracture, fatigue, etc. You will manage suppliers and other support to procure, fabricate, and install flight hardware. You will create and manage the project plans for your hardware including cost and schedule. You may mentor entry level engineers and perform technical peer reviews.
