About the position

The Front Office Manager at The Argonaut Hotel is responsible for overseeing the front office operations, ensuring efficient guest check-in and check-out processes, and maintaining high standards of customer service. This role involves managing a team, addressing guest concerns, and coordinating with other departments to enhance the overall guest experience. The position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring compliance with safety and security policies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure efficient and courteous check-in and check-out processes for guests.
  • Respond to guests' needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Follow all safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Interview, hire, coach, and develop front office team members.
  • Evaluate team performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Set goals and provide ongoing feedback to team members.
  • Prepare and adjust weekly work schedules according to staffing guidelines.
  • Authorize requests for time off, schedule changes, and expenditures.
  • Review guest comments and address issues promptly.
  • Maintain communication between the Front Office and other departments.
  • Monitor and maintain Front Office systems and equipment for optimal performance.
  • Coordinate activities with concierge partners and transportation services.

Requirements

  • Three years of Front Office experience in a hotel property of similar size and quality.
  • Two years of Supervisory/Managerial experience in Front Office operations.
  • Experience with Opera PMS preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong supervisory and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hotel/Hospitality degree is an asset.
