About the position

Treasury Wine Estates (TWE) is seeking a Luxury Sales Manager for the Dallas and Oklahoma market, primarily focused on the luxury portfolio of wines. This role is dedicated to securing new channels of distribution, enhancing education, and creating memorable experiences for consumers in the designated states. The Luxury Sales Manager will be responsible for growing the luxury business, which includes increasing distribution and placements in on-premise and independent retail accounts. This position requires a strategic approach to luxury growth management, where the manager will prepare and execute plans to deliver targeted new distribution and activation activities for TWE in the assigned states. The Luxury Sales Manager will own and drive the sales of TWE's Luxury Portfolio, working closely with key accounts to expand by-the-glass placements and overall market share. This includes identifying prestige accounts, developing performance and activation plans, and managing luxury allocations in collaboration with key accounts. Building strong relationships with account managers, owners, and other stakeholders is crucial for driving awareness and sales of TWE's luxury wines. The role also involves conducting tastings and training sessions for account personnel, ensuring that they are well-versed in the luxury offerings. In addition to sales responsibilities, the Luxury Sales Manager will oversee execution, activation, and events related to the luxury portfolio. This includes driving education and event activation efforts, ensuring successful execution of trade marketing platforms, and promoting TWE's luxury brands through memorable events. The manager will collaborate with the Trade Marketing team to create effective selling materials and manage all aspects of the Luxury Sampling Events Program. Overall, this role is pivotal in enhancing TWE's presence in the luxury wine market and ensuring that the brand is well-represented in high-end venues and among discerning consumers.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare strategic plan to deliver Luxury targeted new distribution, education, and activation activities for TWE in assigned state(s).
  • Own and drive the sale of TWE Luxury Portfolio within designated state(s) to on premise and independent retail accounts.
  • Drive new luxury placements and increase luxury market share in assigned state(s) through securing new Points of Distribution within key independent and On-Premise accounts.
  • Expand by-the-glass placements and OP velocity within influential accounts.
  • Identify prestige/key accounts & develop account performance & activation plans.
  • Manage execution of luxury allocations in relationship with key accounts.
  • Build strong account relationships, manage education initiatives, event activations, and wine-maker visits in assigned state(s).
  • Engage with account managers, owners, and other key stakeholders to develop awareness and drive sales of TWE's luxury wine portfolio.
  • Participate in and conduct tastings and trainings for account personnel (wine tasting and wait staff training).
  • Make regular sales calls to targeted universe of luxury accounts for all relevant Fine Wine and Fine Dining accounts in the assigned state(s).
  • Own relationship & visibility w/ key players/accounts (trade) - top accounts in the state(s).
  • Communicate and work closely with Distributor Management team to drive the sales of the TWE Luxury Portfolio in fine wine retail and on-premise accounts within assigned state(s).
  • Drive the education and event activation efforts for the Luxury portfolio in designated state(s).
  • Educate and engage consumers, trade, and distributors in order to increase brand awareness and create brand advocacy/affinity for the Collection.
  • Ensure successful execution of all Luxury Trade Marketing platforms: Luxapalooza, Luxury Pre-Sell, Luxury Manager Forum, and PR and Trade Marketing Events.
  • Promote TWE Luxury brands in cooperation with other departments, driving brand activation and hosting memorable events for high-end venues and guests.
  • Drive/Manage compliance for ONSA or Regional retail accounts, along w/ activation of optional placements.
  • Collaborate w/ Trade Marketing to create and deliver luxury/on premise selling materials & share best practices.
  • Manage all aspects of Luxury Sampling Events Program.
  • In market event ownership, in coordination with the Events team and DTC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Sales experience with a proven track record in on-premise sales and education expertise.
  • Experience in On-Premise / Fine Wine Channel and Retail (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of luxury marketing.
  • Strong wine knowledge; certifications are a plus.
  • Engaging public speaker and storyteller.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Strong persuasive presentation skills, including the ability to speak before small and large audiences both internally and externally.
  • Strong negotiation and mediation skills with the ability to influence and motivate others to meet objectives under sometimes-restrictive timelines.
  • Ability to manage tasks and exercise independent judgment without supervision.
  • Organized with the ability to multi-task and deliver projects, managing multiple competing priorities.
  • Aptitude for technology and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), desktop publishing programs; experience with Essbase and Pricer preferred.
  • High integrity and a commitment to a strong work ethic.
  • Significant travel within assigned territory required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must be able to lift a case of wine (45 pounds).
