About the position

As a LVN Charge Nurse at Baylor Scott & White Health, you will provide essential patient care within designated units, performing assessments, contributing to care plans, and documenting patient changes. Responsibilities

  • Administer clinical assessments with reasoning.
  • Identify and prioritize patient needs.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing plans.
  • Modify care plans based on patient outcomes.
  • Participate in initiatives aimed at improving healthcare quality and performance.
  • Create a therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
  • Tailor care plans to accommodate unique patient differences.
  • Act on behalf of patients regarding ethical and clinical concerns.
  • Facilitate learning opportunities for patients, families, and nursing staff.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and the community to execute integrated care plans.
  • Utilize resources wisely to resolve potential patient issues.
  • Participate in staffing processes and contribute to the professional development of peers.

Requirements

  • Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent education level.
  • Pursued or obtained a major in Nursing.
  • A minimum of 2 years' prior experience in a relevant field is required.
  • Must be a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).
  • Holds a Basic Life Support certificate, or can obtain one within the first 30 days of starting the role.

  • Knowledge of laws and regulations, and certification standards.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care ethics.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in computers for documentation and communication.
