About the position
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) at Garfield Specialty Center in San Diego, CA, is responsible for providing routine patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider. Responsibilities
- Perform routine patient care under the supervision of an RN or provider.
- Take and record vital signs and assist with dressing changes as directed.
- Administer medications as ordered by the provider, excluding IV medications.
- Assist licensed providers with patient examinations and treatments.
- Prepare and organize treatment rooms for surgical and examination procedures.
- Document patient responses to medications and therapies in medical records.
- Collect specimens for testing using non-invasive and invasive techniques.
- Participate in department quality assurance activities.
Requirements
- Valid LVN license in California.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience in blood sampling and patient care.
