About The Position

The Licensed Vocational Nurse has accountability and responsibility for selected aspects of patient care of a designated group of patients within the LVN scope of practice, and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. The LVN is assigned, delegated, and supervised by an LVN Supervisor, RN Charge Nurse, or MD who has overall responsibility for the coordination and management of care. Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in acute pediatric care or ambulatory setting.
  • Graduate of an accredited school for Licensed Vocational Nursing.
  • Knowledge and ability to provide appropriate patient care depending on age appropriateness, cultural, and spiritual needs.
  • Ability to set goals and judge results in accordance with the highest standards and respect; advance care through development of new ideas and technology; promote teamwork to achieve CHOC's mission; and understand and exceed customer expectations, effectively solve complex patient care and organizational problems, role model positive and professional behavior.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse - California (LVN)

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in English/ Spanish.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
