The LVN II position at the West LA Medical Center involves providing nursing care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician. Responsibilities include assisting medical personnel with special procedures, monitoring patients' conditions, preparing and administering medications, and maintaining equipment and supplies. The LVN will also apply principles of aseptic technique and infection control, monitor patient flow, and provide medical information and education to patients. Documentation of pertinent patient information and maintaining patient confidentiality are critical aspects of the job. The position also involves various patient care procedures, such as explaining examinations and tests to patients, instructing them on self-care, administering first aid, and executing treatments like urinary catheterization and suction procedures. The LVN will participate in the development of nursing care plans, prepare patients for procedures, and respond to emergency situations, including Code Blues. Administrative duties include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and ordering supplies.
