About the position
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in Respiratory Pulmonary Rehab at Christus Health provides professional nursing care to clinic patients under supervision. This role involves collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure quality patient care, performing various nursing tasks, and maintaining patient records in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Performs general nursing care to patients and administers treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
- Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids provider during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
- Observes, records, and reports patients' condition and reaction to drugs or treatments to providers.
- Oversees appointment bookings and ensures preferences are given to patients in emergency situations.
- Greets patients and obtains well-documented history and vitals, preparing them for physical exams.
- Instructs patients in the collection of samples and tests.
- May perform various tasks such as obtaining vital signs, coordinating patient transfers, and administering medications under supervision.
- Maintains patient files, records, and other information in a professional manner following policies and procedures regarding documentation.
- Ensures preparation of exam rooms including re-stocking of treatment areas.
- Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
Requirements
- LVN License in state of employment or compact
- BLS certification
