About the position

The Austin Regional Clinic is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) and a Staff Medical Assistant to join their team. The roles involve providing direct patient care, administering medications, performing diagnostic tests, and ensuring compliance with healthcare protocols. The positions require adherence to company policies and a commitment to delivering high-quality nursing practices in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to all company policies, including OSHA, HIPAA, compliance, and Code of Conduct.
  • Regular and dependable attendance.
  • Follows the core competencies set forth by the Company.
  • Works holiday shift(s) as required by Company policy.
  • Accurately reports and documents status, care rendered, response to care, provider orders, and contacts with patients and/or other healthcare providers.
  • Refills medication following the ARC refill protocols.
  • Accurately rooms patients, takes and documents vital signs, and prepares patients for provider exams.
  • Follows clinic protocols and directions given by nursing team leader or supervisor.
  • Performs diagnostic testing including EKGs, audiograms, tympanograms, spirometry, and visual screenings with appropriate reporting and documentation.
  • Monitors inventory of medical and/or office supplies and equipment, ensuring proper stocking and expiration dates.
  • Cleans patient rooms as needed and ensures laundry cart is stocked with fresh linens daily.
  • Assists providers with sigmoidoscopy exams and cardiac stress testing as needed.
  • Maintains equipment, including sterilization and checking expiration dates.
  • Administers medications and injections as an LVN.
  • Provides direct nursing care and teaches patients and families about health maintenance and disease prevention.
  • Facilitates vaccine management and informs patients of lab results.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of vocational nursing for LVN.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in Texas and current CPR certification required.
  • Previous experience in an ambulatory or acute care setting preferred for LVN.
  • High school diploma or equivalent for Staff Medical Assistant.
  • Medical Assistant experience or comparable experience providing direct patient care required for Staff Medical Assistant.
  • Certification preferred for Staff Medical Assistant.

Nice-to-haves

  • Six months or more experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred.
