About the position
The LVN - Outpatient - Level II position at the Meridian Medical Office in Riverside, CA, involves providing nursing care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician. The role requires excellent customer service skills and adherence to established policies and procedures to ensure optimal patient care. The position is on-call and requires bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
Responsibilities
- Exhibit excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, providers, and co-workers.
- Provide therapeutic patient care as established by physician/advanced practice providers and/or a registered nurse.
- Transcribe physician/advanced practice providers orders as directed by policy.
- Communicate with a registered nurse to institute changes in the plan of care.
- Administer specified medication accurately following provider orders.
- Execute treatments such as urinary catheterizations and intravenous catheter placements.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
- Perform related patient care functions such as taking vital signs and wound care.
- Assist medical staff with examinations and treatments by providing necessary support.
- Observe and document patients' conditions and report unusual findings to the registered nurse/advanced practice provider.
- Collect and process specimens per policy and procedures.
- Provide non-complex teaching following the registered nurse/advanced practice provider/physician plan for education.
- Ensure cleanliness of nursing module/station and proper functioning of patient care equipment.
- Utilize effective verbal and non-verbal communication forms.
- Perform departmental back-office workflows and assist in ordering supplies.
- Document care in Health Connect per policy and procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum of twelve (12) months of LVN direct patient care experience within the last three (3) years.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Vocational Nurse License (California).
- Basic Life Support certification.
Nice-to-haves
- IV Certification and Blood Withdrawal Certification preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) Level II required.
- Preferred ophthalmology background with scheduling experience.
