About the position

The LVN - Outpatient - Level II position at the Meridian Medical Office in Riverside, CA, involves providing nursing care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician. The role requires excellent customer service skills and adherence to established policies and procedures to ensure optimal patient care. The position is on-call and requires bilingual proficiency in Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibit excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, providers, and co-workers.
  • Provide therapeutic patient care as established by physician/advanced practice providers and/or a registered nurse.
  • Transcribe physician/advanced practice providers orders as directed by policy.
  • Communicate with a registered nurse to institute changes in the plan of care.
  • Administer specified medication accurately following provider orders.
  • Execute treatments such as urinary catheterizations and intravenous catheter placements.
  • Adhere to infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
  • Perform related patient care functions such as taking vital signs and wound care.
  • Assist medical staff with examinations and treatments by providing necessary support.
  • Observe and document patients' conditions and report unusual findings to the registered nurse/advanced practice provider.
  • Collect and process specimens per policy and procedures.
  • Provide non-complex teaching following the registered nurse/advanced practice provider/physician plan for education.
  • Ensure cleanliness of nursing module/station and proper functioning of patient care equipment.
  • Utilize effective verbal and non-verbal communication forms.
  • Perform departmental back-office workflows and assist in ordering supplies.
  • Document care in Health Connect per policy and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum of twelve (12) months of LVN direct patient care experience within the last three (3) years.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Vocational Nurse License (California).
  • Basic Life Support certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • IV Certification and Blood Withdrawal Certification preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) Level II required.
  • Preferred ophthalmology background with scheduling experience.
